Procedures:
Academic Expectations
Each student will maintain written and digital, notes, writings, and ideas
Each student is required to create and maintain a digital portfolio of all work done
Each student will turn in required assignments including major grades, daily grades, participation grades and quizzes.
Each student will be required to utilize their chromebooks daily for art assignments.

Curriculum Focus:
Elements of Art: Line, shape, value, texture, space, form, and color
Principles of Design: balance, emphasis, pattern, proportion, rhythm, variety, and unity
Drawing Skills, Ceramic Pottery, Sculpture, Graphic & Computer generated art, Art History and techniques
Proper use of tools & art mediums: pastels, paints, print making, etc..
Grading Policy:
Your student’s academic grade will consist of the following:
Summative Assessments 50%: Tests, final projects, papers
Formative Assessments 50%: Daily work, opening activities, art critiques
Unfinished Assignments:
Arrange tutoring for your student if they have unfinished work.
Incomplete assignments must be turned in by the Wednesday before the end of each 6 weeks.
Absent- Depending on new projects or continuation of current projects please have the student speak with the teacher.
Consequences:
First Step: 3 Verbal Re-directions/Warnings (parent contact)
Second Step: 3 Classroom Referrals (written warnings with principal notification and parent phone call)
Third Step: Office Referral (Referred to the office and parent contacted)
Steps will reset at the beginning of each six weeks.
