The 89th Texas Legislature recently passed Senate Bill 12, requiring school districts to provide parents with written notice of each school counseling service offered at the campus their student attends. In schools, counselors may provide services as defined by statute. These services fall under the responsibilities outlined in the Texas Education Code §33.005, §33.006 and §38.351, as well as in board policy FFEA and FFEB.
