Google Drawings is a great tool to use when creating diagrams, digital worksheets, infographics, and interactive graphics with links. Google Drawings looks and feels a lot like a Google Doc except they are easier to format and it's easier to add visuals and graphics.
Access Google Drawings
Open Google Drive
Click New
Mouse over More
Choose Google Drawings
Set page dimensions first. If you decide to resize the page after you have images on the page, it will skew the images.
Go to File.
Page Setup.
Custom and set page dimensions.
Right click on the Google Drawing
Click Background
Choose a background color
Adding Shapes to a Google Drawing is an easy way to make visually appealing handouts, and graphic organizers.
Click Insert in top menu
Choose Shapes
Customize the Page Setup so that the Google Drawing can easily be printed on a standard sheet of paper.
Click File in top left corner
Click Page Setup
Choose Custom from the drop down menu
Change the dimensions to 8.5 x 11 Inches
Use the Zoom Tool while working to enlarge the Google Drawing. This makes it easier to adjust the details of your drawing.
Click the drop down next to the Zoom tool in the top menu (magnifying glass)
Choose 100% to enlarge the Drawing
Google Drawings can be downloaded as a PDF or Image.
Click File in top menu
Choose Download
Choose PDF or the image file you wish to save your Google Drawing
If you choose .PNG, the background will be invisible! Great for creating logos.
Select paint bucket and choose color
Instead of choosing a color, select "Custom".
Then adjust the opacity indicator to desired opacity. (the box on the far right)
