If help is needed contact the school counselor or administration.
CHILD IS IN IMMINENT DANGER AND REQUIRES IMMEDIATE INTERVENTION
*Call Brownsville Police: 911 The BISD staff member will need to
provide student name, address, other demographic information, and details about the reported incident.
AND
*Call BISD Police at (956) 698-3115
*Report the incident to Child Protective Services
Report by phone (1-800-252-5400):
IMMINENT DANGER INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
-Injuries to a child age 5 or under or serious injuries to any age child
-Immediate need for medical care (including a suicidal child)
-Sexual abuse where the perpetrator has access or will have access to the child in the near future
-A child age 5 or younger who is alone or is likely to be left alone in the next 24 hours
-Any other situation you feel requires a response within 24 hours and
the child is in imminent danger
*Contact the School Administrator and Counselor with the information provided to Police and CPS including:
-CPS case number for the report filed
-Police incident report if provided to you
*BISD Administration and Counselor will follow up with BISD Police, CPS, and BISD student/family
As educators, we often put our needs aside to take care of everyone else. It's in our nature.
