Can I create groups for students not in my class or for extra-curricular activities? Can I create groups of students if I don't have classes in Skyward?
Yes! Teachers have access to create groups for extra-curicular activities, after school programs, or any other group of students (even groups of classes). Read more about groups here:Create-a-Group
Can a parent or staff join my group with a link or QR code?

What is the difference between a Group message and a Private message?
Private Message - A separate conversation will be created for each participant, like BCC. Each participant will only see messages from you.

How long are messages saved? Can you see the message history?
Direct message threads are saved for the entire school year. Deleting a Direct Message thread only removes it from your account view. It does not remove the thread from the recipients. They will still be able to view, search, and print the message thread.
Can I message parents if I do not have classes assigned to me in Skyward?
Yes, you can create groups and add your students to the groups. If you do not have access to create groups, please enter a Help Desk ticket and request access to groups.
Can I message a Group or Class?
Message recipients are only individuals at this time. However, you can add multiple individuals in the recipient's list and set it to the group option. This will message the group and you will have a message thread for this group that you can use all year. Read more about messages here:Send-a-Direct-Message
Do the messages show parents read receipts?
At this time, messages do not show read receipts. ParentSquare has this as a feature request.
Will I be able to see the student and parent names when sending messages?
Yes, you will always see the student name and parent name together.
Can I collaborate with my partner teacher or grade team on a newsletter?

Can I create a template of my newsletter?
Yes! You can create a template of a Studio Editor newsletter and you can create a template of a Post. Here are the instructions:
Can I reuse my newsletter or do I need to recreate it each week?
You can save your newsletter as a template each week or you can duplicate your newsletter. Here are instructions to duplicate a post: Duplicate-a-Post
How many pictures can be uploaded per post?
As of now, there is no limit.
When I create a new post, the only option in my TO: field is my Campus Staff.
This is because you are not in a Class or Group. If you are addded to additional Classes or Groups, those will appear in the TO: field. If you need access to send message to the campus or students, please enter a Help Desk ticket and request this access.
Who sees comments on Posts?
When parents or staff comment on a Post, only the post creator will see the comment.
Can I override parent's notification settings if there is an emergency or urgent issue?
Yes, you can send posts instantly and override parent's preferred settings (instant or digest). Read move about sending posts here: Posts
Will my Teacher or Staff account receive notifications for my Parent account?
If the sender selects "Parents" when sending a message, then you will recieve the message on your parent account. See more about : How-ParentSquare-Decides-which-Contact-Details-to-Use-When-Sending-a-Message
Can I limit the notifications from parents so I only receive them during my office hours?
There is not a way to limit notifications to your office hours, but ParentSquare will be reviewing this request as they add new features. You can sent your notification preferences to instant or digest: Manage-Your-Notification-Settings
How do I change from staff to parent when both my kids attend the school I work at?
You can switch your view by clicking the drop-down arrow next to My School, Classes, And Groups in upper right. This allows you to see post for specific classes or groups.
How do I change my name on my account.
Technology is working with HR on a way to use preferred names instead of legal names in ParentSquare. Put in a Help Desk ticket for your name to be changed and we will change it when we have a solution in place.
My campus is wrong. How do I change it?
Campus, email and name changes update over night. If you campus does not change after you move to a new campus, please enter a Help Desk ticket to request a campus change.
I am at more than one school, will all my schools be added to ParentSquare automatically?
You will be automatially added to up to two schools. If you are at more that two schools, please enter a Help Desk ticket to request your schools.
If I have a name change, will ParentSquare be updated automtically?
Yes, your name and email should update automatically in ParentSquare from the nightly imports from Skyward. If you name or email does not change, please enter a Help Desk ticket.
Will parents still need to login to Skyward and their student's LMS to view grades and assignments.
Parents will need to use Skyward or the LMS to view student grades and assignments. Report cards will still be posted in Skyward.

We are working on adding Student Square. At this time, we do not have an estimated time but we will be working to add Student Square as soon as possible.
Can students message each other?
Students cannot message each other at this time.
Where do I see the staff at my campus?
Click Home at the top, then Explore in the left menu. Then click Directory to see all staff at your campus.
