Welcome to our BHSA Library site.
Albeit the pandemic, our library and English Department still celebrate reading with everyone in our school. Nothing can stop us reading and sharing a book! The plight of hope in the bleak time is vital, therefore, we would love to share reading the book, 'The Book of Hopes' with all of you.
To make reading more exciting, we have created the MASKED READER 2021 competition. You need to listen to the following 12 clips and guess who these masked singers/ readers are. Please fill the question form and submit it to us. Apart from the predictable chocolate or sweet prizes from Mrs. Doran, our Mrs. Godfrey has prepared a scrumdiddlyumptious prize for our final luck dip winner. Act quick!
In addition, you can also download the digital World Book Day voucher and redeem a WBD £1 book for free. The digital voucher is on your Google Classroom. You can also take it as a £1 off voucher if you buy a new book from local booksellers e.g. Linghams and Waterstones.
Here is the list of books you can redeem from local supermarkets or booksellers.
To create a community of reading, we would like you to share a book which brings a magical reading experience to you - a book that makes you laugh or cry or think or change or just when you need it most. Simply post the book cover on our padlet with the book title and author.
Besides, we have curated a wide range of virtual author events for you to celebrate on World Book Day.
For Year 7 & Year 8, please join the WBD LIVE author event on Friday 5th March at 10:30a.m. The theme is reading's relationship with the real world.
