Health Protocols

The organizing team of the 30th Philippine Biodiversity Symposium wants to ensure the safety of our participants and our community. We request that participants attending the on-site symposium in Butuan City adhere to the following protocols.

· Wearing of face mask

· Temperature check upon entry to the school campus

· Completed guest and visitors appearance log

· Presentation of proof of COVID-19 vaccination

The organizing team will provide alcohol dispensers in the venue. The FSUU clinic is also open for consultation.


Traveling to the Philippines

Participants traveling to and from the Philippines may be required to present additional health declarations and proof of vaccination. Please check the travel requirements from your port of departure and entry. You may also refer to the latest IATF Bulletin, Philippine Embassy, or your flight carrier for the most recent travel information. The following list of requirements for travelers 18 years and above entering the Philippines is based on the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution 168:


1. Fully Vaccinated Travelers:

    • Fully vaccinated travelers are those who have received their 2nd dose series or single dose vaccine for more than 14 days prior to departure from the country of origin. The vaccine should be included in any of the following: Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) List or Compassionate Special Permit (CSP) issued by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration; or Emergency Use Listing of the World Health Organization.

    • Anyone entering the Philippines must register to the Bureau of Quarantine e-Arrival Card website to get your e-Arrival card as early as 3 days before your departure date for the Philippines. Make sure to have a printed or electronic copy of your pass showing the QR Code and your unique transaction number.

    • Travelers must have and show acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination from any of the following: World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis, VaxCertPH, national or state manual/digital vaccination certificate of the country/foreign government; or other proof of vaccination permitted by the IATF-EID.

    • Pre-departure COVID tests will NOT be required if the traveler has received the full two (2) doses of COVID-19 vaccine and at least one (1) COVID-19 booster shot administered at any time prior to their departure from the country of origin. Otherwise, the traveler must present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours or a negative laboratory-based rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours prior to departure from the country of origin. The test must be administered and certified by a healthcare professional, can be remotely supervised, done in a healthcare facility, laboratory, clinic, pharmacy, or other similar establishments. Self-administered testing kits are not allowed.

    • Travel insurance for foreign nationals entering the Philippines is no longer required but is highly encouraged.

2. Partially vaccinated, unvaccinated, or travelers with unverified vaccination status:

    • Anyone entering the Philippines must register to the One Health Pass portal within 48 hours prior to their departure for the Philippines. Make sure to have a printed or electronic copy of your pass showing the QR Code and your personal details.

    • Pre-departure COVID tests will NOT be required if the traveler has received the full two (2) doses of COVID-19 vaccine and at least one (1) COVID-19 booster shot administered at any time prior to their departure from the country of origin. Otherwise, the traveler must present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours or a negative laboratory-based rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours prior to departure from the country of origin. The test must be administered and certified by a healthcare professional, can be remotely supervised, done in a healthcare facility, laboratory, clinic, pharmacy, or other similar establishments. Self-administered testing kits are not allowed.

    • Facility-based quarantine until the release of negative RT-PCR test taken on the 5th day from their arrival to the Philippines.

    • Home isolation until their 14th day in the Philippines.
