My name is Hung P. Tong-Viet. I am a Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Binghamton University. Before this, I was a postdoc at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Kent State University and Bielefeld University (Germany). I obtained my PhD degree in pure mathematics at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. I have been teaching at several universities including Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan), Universities of Pretoria and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa).

My primary research interest is in group theory, in particular, character theory of finite groups, permutation groups and applications.
