Welcome to my website. I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at SUNY Binghamton. My areas of specialization are Macroeconomics and Econometrics.

My job market paper models social learning as an epidemic using twitter data. This paper empirically estimates the speed of transmission of an economic news among people when they learn by talking to each other or through news media rather than assuming rational expectations. Twitter data is used as the proxy for people talking to each other. The contribution of this paper is to empirically testify the sticky information approach. How quickly or slowly an economic news spreads vs. a noneconomic news is another question of interest. The second contribution of this paper to use an epidemiological model to arrive at the estimates. Information like diseases has been shown to spread infectiously between people before dying out. The results of this paper suggest what class of epidemiological models can best explain social learning.
