This feature empowers merchants and collecting units with the option to choose who will bear the costs of the transaction fees: the payor or the merchant. The system will automatically compute the total payable amount based on this feature.
The merchant may choose to absorb the costs as commonly practiced in retail stores and shops, both online and onsite. The merchant may also choose to pass the cost to the customer as a convenience fee as in the case of government fees or educational establishments.
This feature is important for companies or establishments that have never had online payment solutions, or have experienced very little margins and cannot absorb additional costs but would like to keep their current pricing and give the customers the option to access their products and/or services at their convenience. The transfer rate imposed on the payors will serve as the convenience fee.
The Gateway Type allows the merchant to choose the charging method that will be applied across the different gateways selected. There are two (2) options:
Universal - This will apply a single transaction rate across all the gateways. This feature is designed for merchants who prefer a simple and straightforward accounting process over their collections. This feature is particularly relevant for micro-businesses that may not have a dedicated accounting team to conduct complex tracking of net profits per individual transaction.
Individualized - This feature allows merchants to enable an individualized rate per gateway based on the rate of each gateway. This feature is designed for companies who have the accounting capability to track net profits per transaction and would like to maximize revenues.
Merchants can send collection notices via text, chat, email, and more. The payment link feature is a quick and easy way to start collecting. Just encode the amount, the description, and the due date of the collection, and GiyaPay will generate the link that can be sent through any digital messaging channel.
This feature is best useful for those who send invoices via email, chat, or other messaging platforms and don't have a checkout page.
For clients with high volume traffic of payments from visitors and its buyers, it's recommended that you have a checkout page that will allow customers to buy during their preferred time. This is referred to as on-demand.
Installment Payments
Through this feature, companies can schedule collections in advance. How? Payment links can give merchants the ability to set an expiry period to the amount due.
Recommended steps:
Create a sheet with the following columns - Client, Due Date, Amount, Payment Link
Create payment links per due date on the GiyaPay Dashboard
Create an email template for the Customer and leave a blank space for the payment link and its due date
Then write up the email per due date and unique payment link for each, and schedule the sending of the email based on your notification schedule [ex. 1 week before due date]
Merchants can choose the kind of button they would like to use for their payment. whether they would like to use for their payment page. This selection is applicable to the API integration of GiyaPay.
Standard Button - a single button provides access to a wide variety of gateways. The standard button is recommended for merchants who want to activate many payment gateways, yet want the simple view. Use this feature if you want to have access to the growing payment channels/wallets in the market without the need to create an integrations with each individual button type.
Gateway Direct - This button type shows the specific Gateway button brand (i.e. Visa/Mastercard instead of the GiyaPay button). This enables the merchant select specific payment button or buttons in their checkout page. Choosing this option will customers direct connection to the gateway of choice without going through the transition page of GiyaPay. This button is recommended for companies that want a select few gateways for accepting payments.
This feature allows the payor to input in the payment process a reference code. This is particularly useful for merchants who collect based on subscription or account basis. This feature is also useful for merchants who want their customers to input their account reference number by themselves. This is best matched with the other feature, Specify Amount.
The paying customers are given the responsibility to key in the amount they want to pay with this feature. This is useful for open-ended transactions where merchants want to provide a pay button to be available for their customers, but leave it to their customers to decide how much they would like to pay. This can useful for donations, contributions, or even billers that may give payors option of how much will be settled.
