For parents/carers new to our school, we are holding a welcome meeting on Monday 9th June at 4pm.
For parents/carers who would like the class teacher to visit them and their child at home, we can facilitate this during school hours on Monday 15th June. Please contact the school office to arrange this.
Visits to Reception Class:
Your child in invited to attend four half days in Reception class before the end of this term. We hope this will ease any anxieties prior to starting school in September. These sessions will take place on the following dates:
Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th July:
Group 1 will join us between 9:15 - 11:15am and Group 2 between 1:15 - 3:15pm. Please bring and collect your child to/from the Reception outdoor play area. Children who are in our nursery provision will be collected and returned to/from class by staff.
Wednesday 8th and Thursday 8th July
Group 2 will join us between 9:15 - 11:15am and Group 2 between 1:15 - 3:15pm. The Thursday session will be a teddy bears' picnic. Your child is invited to bring their own favourite teddy/toy. Please let the school office know if your child has any dietary needs.
Starting School in September:
Our aim is to make school a happy and secure place for your child and admit new children gradually into Reception class. A smooth transition allows staff to really get to know each child individually, as well as giving children the opportunity to know the staff well too. We will inform you in due course which session your child should attend.
Between Wednesday 2nd and Friday 4th September, children will attend Reception daily on either a morning (9-11:30am) or afternoon (1-3:30pm) session.
Group 1 will attend mornings on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd, and then the afternoon of Friday 4th September.
Group 2 will attend afternoons on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd, and then the morning of Friday 4th September.
On Monday 7th September, all children will attend for the full day and stay for lunch. Thereafter, all children will attend school full-time.
Once per term parents/carers are invited into school to discuss your child's progress and how you might further support them. Further details will be shared in due course.
Throughout the course of the year, we offer several 'stay and play' sessions where parents have the opportunity to see what their child is learning and become involved in it. These sessions are also good opportunities to meet other parents and chat informally to the teaching staff.
