What are Micro-Credentials?
Micro-credentials are a short competency-based recognition that allows an educator to show mastery in a particular area.
The format of the learning is asynchronous and you choose the manner in which you will grow, learn, and show proficiency. Each micro-credential requires the submission of artifacts as evidence of your proficiency. There is not a formal teacher or class environment.
These are offered in partnership between BEA and BPS to help our staff improve their practice and earn professional development credit.
How much do Micro-credentials cost and what do I earn?
Micro-credentials are free to union members. Non-members will need to pay a fee between $75.00 to $150.00 depending on the course. You will need to know your member number to register. If you don't know your member number you can email Shauna at sreichelt@mfpe.org
Each earned micro-credential is 15 OPI units. Micro-credential are assessed by NEA members outside of our local association. Only courses on the registration form are available for BPS step-up credit at this time.
