CLASSROOM RULES:
Arrive on-time and prepared

Speak when recognized or allowed

CLASSROOM NORMS:
We will produce healthy vocal sounds
We will speak up when recognized, speak low to neighbors
We will use kind and honest words personally and critically
We will seek solutions to challenges
We will ask for help and provide assistance with humility
When Classroom Rules are not followed, student will be asked to fill out a digital self report of their behavior. Consequences may range from a warning, to time after school with Mr. Hammond, to office managed consequences at a higher level.
BEFORE YOU ENTER THE ROOM:
Visit the bathroom and fill your water bottle during passing time.
Finish any food you are eating
Be in the room by the time the tardy bell rings.
WHEN YOU ENTER THE ROOM:
Spit out your gum in the garbage can (Choir only)
Go to your assigned seat for attendance
Open your computer and participate in the daily bell ringer activity
Rehearsal/class begins when you walk into the room
DURING REHEARSAL:
Give an honest effort to contribute to the success of the group
Listen to and follow all directions
Follow along even when your part/question is not being addressed specifically
Sit up, Stand, or relax when directed
Have music or other materials available for reference, even if memorized
Raise your hand and be recognized before you speak
Be aware of your contribution first. Address your own actions before anyone else's
Ask questions and give comments only as they relate to rehearsal/class
STAY IN YOUR SEAT UNTIL DISMISSED
Each member of the choir contributes equally to the success of the group
CONFIDENTLY take risks, BOLDLY make mistakes, DO your best with a positive attitude. Learning music is simply target practice. We get closer every time we practice or rehearse.
Keep high expectations for yourself and those around you
Never be satisfied, but be proud of the work you've done
Be prepared to learn rhythm, style, history, and every day
Ask questions when you don't know
Persevere through challenges
Remember that weather, health, fatigue, mood, and hormones can effect your voice. Some day's will be better than others, and no two days will you voice be exactly the same. Be okay with it.
