Objectives & Details

Goals:

  • To create a mentoring program for new middle school teachers that provides a continual professional learning plan

  • To create a leadership cadre of expert teacher leaders to serve and be compensated to mentor middle school new hires

  • To provide teacher leadership support to master educators

  • To connect district experts to middle school new hires

    • IEFA, Multilingual Learning, Wellness & Resiliency, Curriculum Coaches, and Union Leadership

  • To offer micro-credentials to the district


Marigolds (Mentors)

There will be 6 mentors that will be accepted to the program. These outstanding, kind, and driven individuals will be chosen not only for their ability to serve as leaders but also their willingness to continually learn.

Mentees

Any new hire can take part in the mentorship program. If a middle school new hire didn't hear about the program from their leadership they can reach out to their principal or email bpstis@billingsschools.org.
