7th Grade

What Do 7th grade students need for class?

Their instrument (If you don't have one, you can rent one from the music store, or from me!)
Their own copy of: "Sound Innovations for Band-Book 1" for their instrument.
Clarinet/Saxophone players- AT LEAST 2 working reeds at all time. Swab to clean their instrument daily.
Brass players- Valve/slide oil.
Percussion- Your own pair of drum sticks.

Greetings! Here is a list of concert dates and locations for the entire school year!

Thursday, December 8th- Holiday Band Concert

6th/7th/8th Grade Bands

Saturday, February 25th- Solo/Ensemble Festival

Any student who has signed up for a solo/ensemble

Riverside Middle School @ scheduled time (available the week of)

Monday, February 27th- Winter Band Concert

6th/7th Grade Bands (No 8th Grade Concert Band!)

Jazz Swing Band

Jazz Rock Band

Castle Rock Gymnasium @ 7:00 PM

Thursday, April 4th- 8th Grade All-City Band Gala

8th Grade Band ONLY!

A few reminders:

Concerts are required. They are like the final tests or big games. If there is an emergency or conflict, please contact me to discuss the issue. Sports and other activities are not considered excused.
If a student misses a concert without being excused, they will have a make-up assignment. The students will have 1 week to record themselves playing their parts for all of the concert songs and then turn them into me for a playing test.
Dress for the concert is as follows. Black pants, black shoes, white dress shirt (no t-shirts or shirts with words/pictures on them.) A solid black/white dress is also allowed. If you cannot get these items, please contact Mr. Goodheart, a counselor, or administration member at least 1 week before the concert so we can arrange for help with this!
