October 29: Happy Halloween week!
- Star Student: Dane Larsen, (Last week's star student was Hayden) . Parents, thank you for participating. Your contribution really makes it a special, fun week for your kiddos!
- Great seeing many of you at Family Fun Night. Our beautiful basket sold to one of our parents, :), for over $200! Thanks again for your generosity!
- I look forward to meeting with all of you at conferences, soon. You are welcome to bring your student. I have always welcomed my students at conferences, since it IS about them! We will cover a lot in 15 minutes, I will have a couple recent assessments and work samples to show progress so far this year.
Even though we only have three days this week, we have lots to do!
- Sharing week. Remember to check your red copy for who shares on each day.
- New sight word added to our word back, "like". We also know the following words: a, the, we, can, see. It is great to see students blending letter sounds together to read and write words!
- Finishing a unit on Bats. This week, we will start writing our first informational piece. Students will choose to write about bats OR spiders. (We have learned many facts about both.)
- Green refrigerator copy of "Wonders" will tell you what we are doing during Reading block.
THANK YOU for all your donations toward our Game Night Basket. I bought a plastic tub to store/present it all, and your items are flowing over :) .
No Star Student of the Week this week. We will only have Star Students on 5 day weeks, to give each child the full opportunity to shine. Elise had a great week sharing a bit of herself each day.

What a busy day! We started our with a Bus Safety presentation, and short "field trip". It was the first time on a bus for some of us. How exciting!
The letter of the week is "s". We practiced writing our upper and lower case s in shaving cream on our desks.

It is amazing how much we have grown in our brief 24 days together. I am so impressed with how students have adapted to our routines and procedures. Each day, these become smoother and quicker, which allows us more learning time!
We welcomed our 22nd classmate, Dean, today. He comes from Wyoming, and went to a school with 8 or 9 students, so this was a big change for him! We are so happy to have him with us. :)
If you haven't joined us on Seesaw, please do so. We will be adding to our Seesaw journals (hopefully), weekly.
OUR FAMILY GAME NIGHT BASKET is looking awesome! We have a great variety of games. If you would like to donate, food/snack items might be a fun way to finish this basket. Thank you!
