Billings Public Schools teachers, use the links on this page to apply for step up credit BEFORE completing Apple Teacher badges for iPad, Mac or Swift Playgrounds or completing an Apple Teacher Portfolio. The Apple Teacher certification program, developed by Apple, is a way for teachers to show their understanding of using Apple products for teaching and learning. After completing a series of badges for a topic (iPad, Mac and/or Swift Playgrounds), or completing and submitting an Apple Teacher Portfolio, teachers will receive an Apple Teacher badge and recognition.
Apple Teacher Certification
You can choose to complete badges for iPad, Mac and/or Swift Playgrounds. Each completed Apple Teacher badge is worth 2 OPI renewal units. In order to receive credit, all badges for a topic (iPad, Mac or Swift Playgrounds) must be completed, and we must receive proof of completion by clicking on the Turn in Your Achievement button below.
Apple Teacher Portfolio
You can choose to complete an Apple Teacher Portfolio, which includes documenting planning , teaching, and reflecting on 9 lessons. You will receive 20 OPI renewal units for successful portfolio completion. In order to receive credit, all lesson badges must be complete and you must submit your portfolio to Apple for approval utilizing their portfolio template. We must receive proof of completion by clicking on the Turn in Your Achievement button below.

All of the learning will take place on your own at the Apple Teacher Learning Center. You will sign in using your Apple ID (if you don't already have one, you will need to create one). Once signed in, you will select Badges for iPad, Badges for Mac or Badges for Swift Playgrounds or Apple Teacher Portfolio and begin the process of learning. Resources and support are provided through the Apple Teacher Learning Center. When all badges for a particular topic are successfully completed, you will receive official notification from Apple that you have become an Apple Teacher. Please send us a screenshot of your completed iPad badges, as well as a copy of your Apple Teacher notification from Apple, using the Turn in your achievement button above.
