Thank you for visiting the Billings Honor Orchestra Website!
The Honor Orchestra Program was created to provide an advanced string orchestra experience for interested auditioning students. There are two ensembles for students to participate in: the Honor Orchestra and the Honor Chamber Orchestra. Each ensemble includes an embedded string quartet as well. The student who places first chair Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, and Cello from each ensemble based on chair auditions during the first few weeks of rehearsal will participate in their ensemble's string quartet, which will perform at the Winter and Spring Concerts.
Both orchestras rehearse weekly on Wednesdays from 4:00 - 5:00pm at the Lincoln Center. The Honor Orchestra meets in the Lincoln Center Auditorium, and the Honor Chamber Orchestra meets in the Lincoln Center Band Room.
Becoming a member of one of these ensembles for the 2023 - 2024 season requires past participation, or a successful audition. Audition information is available on the Audition Materials page.
If accepted by audition, there is a participation fee of $55.
