Proficiency-Based Learning to evaluate student mastery of specific skills or competencies.
Assessments are aligned with learning and language objectives.
Performance tasks may include: portfolios, projects, tasks, qnd other forms of authentic assessment.
Students work within their academic language level to gain English proficiecny and learn thier school content.
Students with higher levels of academic English (levels 3 & 4) can choose 1/2 BMA experience--focus on developing academic English in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Students who are Newcomers or Emerging academic English levles (levels 1 & 2) are encouraged to spend the whole day at the BMA until they have further developed thier language skills.
