Below are safety tips for teens:
In the Know! Inform parents/guardians or another trusted adult about where you will be going, and with whom you will be spending time.
Charged Up! Make sure your cellphone is fully charged and with you when you are out alone.
Be Alert! Pay attention to your surroundings -- people, cars, landmarks, etc.
It's Lit! Stay in well-lit, public areas. When walking or jogging at night, wear reflective clothing.
Tune In! Keep headphones at a low volume when walking or jogging.
Hands Free! Refrain from texting and driving or walking.
Check-in! If you are out and feel uncomfortable, text or call your parent/guardian, trusted adult, or a friend to check-in.
