Omegon, Inc. is a long-term residential facility that began in the early 1970s as Pharm House, the Twin Cities’ first non-hospital based inpatient, adolescent, chemical dependency treatment. Omegon provides services for residents who are experiencing serious emotional, social and behavioral disorders and have exacerbated their already complex problems by developing substance use disorders. At this time, Omegon provides 24-hour room/board and all services including residential counselors, Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselors and Mental Health Professionals. Omegon is included as a program of Volunteer of America, which is a nonprofit organization in the State of Minnesota.
In efforts to meet the changing needs of youth with emotional and behavioral concerns, it is Omegon’s belief that treatment services for these residents, identified as high-risk, are best delivered in a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment where their skills can be both fostered and developed. Free Arts is another tool at Omegon, giving the teens (13-18 years) an outlet, while encouraging them to rebuild appropriate and trustworthy relationships with adults in their lives.
