About Señora Wahls

¡Hola!

My name is Annie Wahls and this is my 4th year teaching Spanish at Big Hollow Middle School. I graduated from Augustana College in 2004 and I have my Masters degree in Teaching and Leadership from St. Xavier University. I previously taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade Spanish for 8 years in Gurnee. My family and I lived in Panamá for 3 1/2 years fully immersed in the Spanish language and Panamanian culture. We moved back at the end of summer 2018. I am excited to share my unique experiences with my students and provide them with authentic and meaningful language instruction.

I have two energetic boys that attend Big Hollow Elementary and Middle School, a hardworking husband, and a golden retriever puppy named Honey. I love all animals and enjoy learning about them and spotting them in the wild, especially the unique animals and birds that lived in the rainforest by our house in Panamá. In my free time I enjoy going to the beach, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, gardening, reading, doing pilates and going on adventures with my family.
