Game Day: Build Out when GK in Possession
Advanced player must stay high on midfield
No players should be standing next to the build-out line.
Preference is to play quickly, short and wide but playing to the high forward is an option.
When all the offensive players are behind the build out line it makes play predictable for the defending team.
Offensive Throw-Ins
Outside midfielders should take throw-ins, looking to play forward quickly into space for a player to run onto the ball (strong throws)
If we cannot throw forward, we look to play backwards and switch the angle of attack/possession....each player adjusts their position as the ball moves across the field to give width, length and depth.
Defensive Throw-ins:
One player must always stay closer to the opposition goal, and act as our release (staying onside).
Players closest to the ball must retreat far enough that the ball cannot be thrown over their heads.
Defending players do not need to be standing immediately next to the attacking players but must be close enough to be able to adjust and make a defensive challenge.
