On November 18, 2016, BTS released a trailer announcing the tour with first shows to be held in South Korea, later six shows were confirmed in five cities in Chile, Brazil, and the US.
Tickets for the US shows sold-out within a few minutes. Due to high demand, two shows were announced in the Prudential Center and the Honda Center. Around 95,000 tickets for BTS' shows in the US were sold out within minutes of being released.
Shortly after, BTS went on to sell out their concert headlined in Chile, becoming the fastest K-pop group to sell out the Movistar Arena. The press release from BigHit Entertainment quoted Chilean promoters as saying. According to Puntoticket, the Chilean ticket sales and distribution company, the BTS show was the fastest-selling show in Chile's history, only comparable to Maroon 5’s concert in 2016, selling more than 10,000 tickets in less than 2 hours. On January 13, 2017 BTS announced an extra concert date in Chile, to be held in the same venue of the first show, Movistar Arena, Chile's biggest indoor arena.
In Brazil, more than 50,000 fans tried to buy the 14,000 available tickets, which led to protests on Twitter asking for the Brazilian promoters of the tour to change the concerts to a bigger venue.
