ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Executive Advisory Committee oversees the activities of the Youth Engagement Team and supports its success through strategic planning, goal-setting, program development, volunteer coordination, and operations management. They monitor the program throughout each term and continuously implement initiatives to improve the experience of volunteers on the team.
EXECUTIVE ADVISORS
Renee Boney
Renee is a current Master of Speech-Language Pathology candidate at the University of Toronto. She completed her undergraduate studies at McMaster University with an Honours degree in Cognitive Science of Language and Communication Studies. Renee is deeply passionate about volunteering and community engagement. After graduating, she joined BIAPH as the Director of Research and Education and has since transitioned to the Advisory Committee. During her time at McMaster, Renee took on a leadership role with the McMaster Association of Caribbean and West Indian Students (MACaws), where she not only immersed herself in Caribbean culture but also honed her leadership skills and learned how to effectively work with youth to foster engagement. Over the past year, Renee has served as an Outreach Director at McMaster University, working with marginalized youth. In her spare time, she enjoys music, reading, and basketball.
Olivia Condlln-Wilby
After graduating Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in Social Work (minoring in Indigenous Studies), Olivia joined BIAPH as a Business Development Officer over the summer of 2023. She was a founding member of the Youth Engagement Team and has served as a volunteer on the Executive Advisory Committee since its inception. Through her work in non-profit and educational settings, Olivia has cultivated knowledge and expertise in program development, program coordination, data management, and quality improvement. In her spare time, Olivia loves to explore new restaurants and find scenic places to walk in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)!
Hala Redwan
Hala is a third-year Health Sciences student at McMaster University specializing in Biochemistry and Biomedical Research. She became involved with BIAPH through her passion for community impact and knowledge translation in healthcare. During her time at McMaster, Hala has been actively involved in student organizations, taking on leadership roles that emphasize collaboration, inclusivity, and advocacy. She is also the founder of the McMaster Women in Dentistry Club, where she works to foster connection, empowerment, and mentorship for students across disciplines. Through her academic and extracurricular experiences, Hala has built a strong foundation in research, project coordination, and community outreach. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, swimming. and baking and always loves sharing her creations with family and friends.
