Please Donate to the Toy Drive

By Edward Morrison

Most of Beverly Hills is pretty well off, but some areas outside of Beverly Hills are less well off. This means that many families cannot buy their children new, fresh toys and Christmas can be disappointing for these children. So to give back to the community BVMS has a toy drive every year to turn children’s frowns upside down. If you would like to personally make a donation, see if you have any new and barely used toys. Then kindly drop off your donation in the green bin in front of the office. Giving back to the community is a great thing, and it feels good. Giving back also strengthens the community. Be kind, Bulldogs, and give back to your community.

Teen Girl Stocking Stuffers

By Miah Jackson

The holiday season is right around us, considering that it's December already. That's crazy; I can't believe it. Stocking stuffers work for both those who celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas.

One suggestion for stocking stuffing is a waterproof Bluetooth shower speaker. Some teens prefer to listen to music while in the shower/ bath, but you would want them to avoid bringing their phones in there cause then it would get all wet and only be able to turn on if your try that rice trick. This speaker suctions to the shower wall and comes in several colors with a battery of up to six hours on a charge.

Another option is a photo clip string light which only costs $11 on Amazon. These lights would be perfect for that teen who loves making excellent backdrops for TikTok, Instagram, Snap Chat, or any other photo app. It provides good lighting using seventeen lights and fifty precise clips for hanging photos.

You could also get her a fidget toy phone case for only $6 on Amazon. I became fidgety, and I tended to often play with my hands or pick at my fingernails. I would be grateful if I could get this for Christmas or even my birthday. It comes in every size for a phone, even a Samsung.

Lastly, if your teen is obsessed with skincare, you could get her a new mug. Pretty lovely if she likes tea. What's your favorite tea? Honestly, I am not a tea fan, but I still need to find the right one.

I hope you found this article helpful and long—Happy Holidays from me to you.

Hanukkah is Upon Us

By Jonathan Gorodezki and Davina Separzadeh

The most delightful holiday for Jewish people is Hanukkah! On this memorable holiday, there are eight days of celebration. What makes Hannakuh so unique is that when the Jewish people were hiding in Egypt, there was a lid of oil that should have lasted only one day, but with God's blessing, it lasted eight days; this is why Hannakuh is celebrated.

On each day of Hannukah, gifts will vary from less expensive to very expensive. Some parents start with the least essential gift and then end with the most important at the end. When celebrating Hanukkah, Jewish families gather around, praying for life to improve or stay the same. After praying, the family's dad hands out a present.

Families also eat jelly or custard donuts because donuts are fried in oil, signifying the miracle of God's gift of oil to the Jewish people.

Some days during the holidays, we visit our friends' houses to celebrate Hanukkah. We play with a dreidel, spinning top, and gelt chocolate coins.

Is Inflation Keeping people from Spending Money for Gifts?

By Danica Ventura

Christmas is here yet some of us have trouble buying gifts, why? Supply chain issues, the pandemic, and interest rate heights give us results of high price goods. Many Americans have started to cut back on their holiday spending since people don’t know when inflation will get better, or how worse it will get. Yet, 30% of the population have said that they will continue to get a few more presents this season. Inflation is when there is a rate of increase in prices over a given period of time. It is typically a broad measure, such as the overall increase in prices or the cost of living in a country. The rise in rates began from delays that have occurred because of Covid. Due to people getting sick when the pandemic first came out, there has been a decrease in staff members, leading to longer waits for supplies, causing higher prices. The current interest rate heights, according to Economists, will have a sustained decline in economic growth over the next several months, taking us into late 2023. Having said that, if people are strategic, when they buy gifts for family or friends on a budget, they will have a more affordable holiday this year. A tip people are starting to use this festival season is either giving or using gift cards for presents which would lead to having a healthier budget this festive season.

Are the Holidays Really that Beneficial to Charity?

By Edward Morrison

The holidays have always been seen as a time for charity. But some are saying that might not be as beneficial to charities as it may seem. Yes, it’s really cold and they really appreciate the donations but unfortunately, charities have found that these are where donations end. This can be a problem when there’s really hot summer water and clothes aren’t plentiful. The thing we need to start doing is donating what we can all year round. This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be donating during the holidays. It just means that we need to donate all year round. L. A county is one of the communities that need donations the most. We have almost 70,000 experiencing homelessness, and cancer is still running rampant. There are many charity drives at BVMS. There are many charities around L.A. Let’s be charitable year-round.

Teen Boy Gifts

By Miah Jackson

Christmas and Hanukkah are right around the corner, and I am sure you are either a parent or a child with some teen boy in your life.

The first thing you should get him is a Retro mini fridge. I never had one of these, but as for the looks, it seems pretty fancy. If you get the right one, it should fit up to six cans and come in four colors. This is still an offer, but you can get one from Amazon for only $36.

Another thing you can make for him is a personal gaming box. We all know that most boys like to play games. This box could contain a water bottle, socks, snacks, and a pop socket. For a side gift, you can get him a Neon gaming sign.

If you want to help decorates his room for gaming or just anything beyond, you can buy him some Led Lights or a gaming chair. If you check the link below this article, you can determine where you can get most of these items.

Additionally, you can get him a Drone, Air Force, skateboard, or light-up basketball. That may be important.

Lastly, you can get him a box of snacks, which would last him for a while. Some examples of the best snacks are Chex Mix, goldfish, chips, and candy.

Things to do on New Year

By Miah Jackson

I know that most people sit at home and drink apple cider to celebrate the new year, which is fine, but there are other things you can do on this day besides sitting around at home waiting for midnight to arrive.

The first thing you can do is set a resolution for the coming year which can impact your life as the year progresses. Another thing that you can do is watch a new years movie such as When Harry Met Sally, Carol, An American in Paris, or While You Were Sleeping.

Now let's say you want to go on a trip. One idea is to travel to New York City to watch the ball drop at Times Square. Even if you can't make it in person, you can watch it on ABC or CNN.

Lastly, you can have a pamper night, throw a house party, play board games, or book a place to eat at your favorite restaurant.
