Project TRUE Field Research Assistant
Project TRUE (Teens Researching Urban Ecology) is an urban ecology research and youth development program at The Bronx Zoo. In Project TRUE, small teams of high school students are paired with a Fordham University undergraduate student, who serves as a near-peer research mentor, to conduct field research. Research topics range from bird behavior and mammal diversity to invasive species management and water quality. Throughout the summer, students learn and put into practice research and science communication skills. Interns continue this work in the fall portion of the program while expanding on their research projects while learning more in-depth research skills through field trips, lessons, and workshops.

EELS Summer 2026 - Spring 2027 Application
The Bronx River EELS Internship Program is a 12-month paid program that helps students dive into an environmental science career path. Interns will first participate in hands-on science activities and attend a college credit class during Summer 2026. Then, during the fall and spring, they perform advanced research on the Bronx River and are paired with a research mentor in the science field. Finally, interns have the opportunity to return in Summer 2027 as a peer mentor.

Join the Youth Theatre!
Interested in creating original theatre based on your ideas? Do you have something to say? CAT Youth Theatre companies meet weekly to explore their ideas and to build their skills through theatre games and exercises, improvisation, scene development and rehearsals, and critical reflection and discussion.
Each spring, the CAT Youth Theatre company (young people in high school) presents a full production of an original work in a professional venue. Three times a year, the Junior Youth Theatre company (young people in middle school) present original work at the CAT studio. The CAT Studio is located near the corner of 6th ave and West 31st Street in Manhattan.

Girls Who Code's 2026 Pathways Application
Girls Who Code is excited to offer Pathways this summer from Monday, June 29th, through Friday, August 14th! This seven-week program is a free, flexible online learning opportunity for students who want to learn coding at their own pace.
Participants will be able to explore coursework in five tracks throughout the program: Data Science + AI, Game Design, Web Development, Cybersecurity, and AI + Society.
Beyond coding, students gain real-world insights through virtual Partner Events with leading tech organizations. They can also connect with peers through Girls Who Code’s private Discord community and join optional Student Hours for live support and collaboration.
For students who participated in Pathways during 2025, this summer's program will offer new courses and virtual events, as well as the chance to explore coursework you may have missed previously!
Pathways is open to high school girls and non-binary students of all experience levels, including rising 9th graders, graduating seniors, and returning participants.

Applied Research Innovations in Science and Engineering at NYU
ARISE is a free 10-week summer program funded by the generous support of the Pinkerton Foundation. The program combines foundational training with hands-on research experience. The first 4 weeks focus on safety training, college writing workshops, and research skills development. During the remaining 6 weeks, participants work in over 80 NYU research labs, assisting faculty and researchers on real-world projects.

The Bronx Museum Spring Teen Council
The Bronx Museum invites NYC high school students ages 14–19 to apply for the Spring 2026 Session of Teen Council!
Teen Council is a paid internship for New York City high school students that engages participants in art making, collaboration, and learning about the museum space. The application is free and easy to complete—we also encourage you to apply again if you have not previously been accepted.
Teen Council projects include:
Meeting and interviewing contemporary artists
Curating in-person and digital art exhibitions
Creating work for and producing a zine
Collaborating with other teens
Exploring The Bronx Museum’s current exhibitions

Become an ACES Intern at Wave Hill
The ACES internship provides an opportunity for students to connect practical experience, informal STEAM education and artistic play. ACES interns assist with Family Art Project, an intergenerational and multidisciplinary program for families to come together and make art inspired by nature at Wave Hill. Interns also assist with our affiliated family storytime program.
An ACES intern must be enthusiastic, highly motivated and enjoy working with people of all ages. This position is well suited to people who are passionate about working with the public, are great communicators, enjoy being part of a team and have an interest in science-informed arts education.
