EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY APPLICANTS!!! APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS NOW!!!
Students will be able to start applying for scholarships for Fall 2024 on November 1. Although the FAFSA may not open up until December this year, we'll still open up our scholarships at the same time as we've done in the past, on November 1. In some cases, all they need to do is fill out the 1-minute General Application, and they will be matched up with scholarships they automatically qualify for. They can use our scholarship search at eiu.edu/scholarships.
Since every school's financial aid packages will be later than usual, this year we're also mailing out certificates to students who qualify for our automatic merit scholarships. This includes our new Student Success and Engagement Award, a $1,000 per year award that we'll award to students who don't meet the GPA requirements but show active involvement in extracurricular activities. We think this will help students who may be more uncertain about their financial aid packages this year.
