Job Transition 1

Our Job Transition 1 class will be starting our Work Based Learning and CBIs - Community Based Instruction in October.  I have made partnerships with the following businesses:  The Grocery Outlet, Burlington, Kohl’s and Chews Landing Fire Department

We do Work Based Learning and CBIs every D day.  We leave after lunch at 11:15am and return to the school around 1:40pm.   On D Days, students must wear nice jeans, khaki pants or black pants.  I will provide them with a work polo shirt.  They should not wear active wear such as sweat pants on D days when they are scheduled to work.  

When we do Work Based Learning, students will be going to their job sites to gain experience.  When they get home on D Days, they will be able to tell you what job site they worked at and what they did.  We don’t find out what our tasks are until we arrive at the job site that day.  When we do CBIs, we will be going on behind the scenes tours and talking with managers at these locations.  We will be talking to business owners and managers about what they are looking for in their employees and how to be successful at work.

-Tuesday, October 6th - Sam’s Club (do not need to dress for work)

-Tuesday, October 13th - Gloucester Twp. Outlets (do not need to dress for work)

-Monday, October 19th - Job Sites (need to be dressed for work)

-Friday, October 23rd - Deptford Mall (do not need to dress for work)

- Thursday, October 29th - Job Sites (need to be dressed for work)
