I am the AP Physic teacher.  I teach both AP Physics 1 (Algebra Based) and AP Physics 2 (Algebra Based).

In addition, I teach Astronomy.

This is an algebra based course in mechanics to prepare students for the AP Physics1 test.  The topics covered are:

Kinematics

Forces  and Newton's Laws

Circular Motion 

Impulse and Momentum

Work and Energy

Rotational Motion

Simple Harmonic Motion 

The course focuses on the concepts and problem solving skills required for the AP test in May.  

48500/1: Honors Physics

This is an introductory course in Physics concentrating on mechanics.  The course focuses  more on teaching the concepts that Physics is based on.  However a minimum of Algebra 1 math skills are required. The topics covered are: 

Kinematics

Forces and Newton's Laws

Circular Motion 

Impulse and Momentum

Work and Energy

Rotational Motion

Simple Harmonic Motion

Electricity and Circuits 

45600/3: Astronomy

This is an introductory course in Astronomy designed to aquaint students with the Moon, Solar System, Galaxy and beyond.  Whenever possible video documentaries produced by the research scientists engaged in major aspects of astronomical research will be used to demonstrate the  nature of the research and the results obtained.  In addition, computer simulations will be used to illustrate key concepts.
