RULES & EXPECTATIONS
CLASSWORK: You will be required to participate everyday in class. Participation is worth 30% of your final grade. Any issues with discipline in class will result in a lower classwork grade.
RESPECT THE PEOPLE, EQUIPMENT, AND MATERIALS IN THE STUDIO: Please keep your hands to yourself and respect others' personal space. Get permission to use another’s materials. Use all art materials as directed by the instructor for your own and others' safety. Be considerate and kind when you discuss someone’s artwork. Make sure you have plenty of space to work on assignments. Clean up your own mess. You are only responsible for your own materials and behavior, you will never be required or encouraged to take responsibility for another student's artwork or studio habits.
COME TO CLASS ON TIME: Once the class bell rings the classroom door will be closed. No one is permitted to open the classroom doors without teacher permission. If you are coming to class late with a pass, please make sure the entirety of the pass is filled out accurately and make sure to turn it in to the instructor when you are let into class. You will get a teacher detention for every second late in a marking period. Please be patient and respectably wait to be allowed into class so that your lateness is not a distraction from the creative process.
BACKPACKS & LARGE BAGS: This is an art studio where we need lots of space to successfully make art. All bags, that are not a purse, should be put in the designated area. All purses should be hung on or set underneath your chair. Nothing should be on the tables except art, art making materials, and laptops when being used for the current lesson.
PHONES: Cell phones and ear buds are not permitted in the classroom. They should be powered off and placed in the cell phone holders. If they are seen, it is an automatic referral.
FOOD & DRINK: Keep it away in your purse or bags. You may not eat or drink in the Studio while we are working with toxic/dangerous supplies. (You could get very sick!) Absolutely no beverage containers without a lid or seal. No Food or drink will ever be permitted to be on the art tables during the entirety of studio class.
BE A CREATIVE INDIVIDUAL: Don’t be Boring! Yes, that is your responsibility to yourself and to this class. It is all about details and your personal artistic intent. You will be creating art. The more creative you are within the projects guidelines, the better your final grades will be.
