My name is Mrs. Tyler and I will be your teacher for the school year. I am anticipating a great year for all of us! Every day is a GREAT day to be an EAGLE!
If you are absent please refer to our Google Classroom that will have an agenda of what you missed while you were out along with all of the work for each day. It is represented by the date. You are responsible to get the work and per district policy, have 2 days for each day you were absent to make up the work and to get it turned in to the Absent Work turn in tray in the classroom. If you have questions in regards to this, you must discuss it with me prior to the absent work due date.
I am currently beginning my 16th year as an EAGLE, and love being a part of The Hill! I am originally from Michigan, so I may still have a "northern" accent. I enjoy reading, crafting, shopping, and love anything with sports. My favorite beverage of choice is always an unsweetened tea and my go to for candy is Hot Tamales or dark chocolate. Outside of school, I keep pretty busy with various activities, umpiring, sports, and church. I tend to be a positive, glass half full type of person, so expect to be encouraged as well as equipped this year!
Students are expected to complete and turn in classwork on time. Failure to do so may result in a grade reduction and or a zero. Students will have a classwork folder that will stay in my room so that they can continue to work on assignments that are on going, and may take it home only if they are absent. Homework is typically only work that has not been finished during class time as well as studying for upcoming tests or quizzes. Daily reading is also considered as part of your homework. Please note that each student will receive a school agenda so that they can keep track of their assignments and stay organized with due dates as well as upcoming events. Please refer to their agenda along with my site calendar for any due dates.
As a class, we will create a "Social Contract" that we will discuss, create, and adhere to throughout the year.
The following expectations will be required...
Be kind and respectful
Be on time and prepared
Ask permission to leave your seat
Raise your hand before speaking
Follow directions
Please be aware that I use these as great tools to remind students/parents about upcoming assignments, projects, tests, and other important information.
Our class syllabus is located in our Google Classroom as well as the QR code in your agenda. Please review the syllabus to find all the necessary information about Mrs. Tyler's ELAR class and return the signed contract page.
