An avid reader and researcher throughout my life has certainly brought me to a logical profession! However, it took some time to get here. Prior to being the OMS School Librarian, I was a school librarian at the Cooperative Virtual Learning Academy and before that I was a health teacher right here at OMS (and at BHBL High School). While it may seem strange for a health teacher to become a librarian, I encourage you to really think about the deep connections between these two subjects!
Outside of school, I love to read (of course)...especially audiobooks while going for long walks! Yes, audiobooks "count" as reading. I also love to knit, hang out with my family and my cats (see below!). I also spend some time each week working as a reference librarian as a local public library.
I have a Bachelors degree from SUNY Brockport in Health Education, a Masters degree from University at Albany in Curriculum Design & Instructional Technology, and a Masters degree from St. John Fisher University in Library Media. I'm certified in New York as a K-12 Library Media Specialist, Educational Technology Specialist, and Health Education teacher.
Cat pictures coming soon!
