Hello! My name is Sarah Kalinkewicz, and I am thrilled to teach 5th grade at Charlton Heights this year!
I grew up in the town of Glenville and just recently moved to Charlton. I am honored to be apart of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District and work with students in my hometown. Teaching fifth grade is my passion. I began my classroom teaching career in the North Colonie Central School District, teaching sixth grade from 2012-2016. Starting in September of 2016, I began teaching fifth grade until 2021. From 2021-2023, I spent two years at home with my family. My husband and I have a 7-year-old daughter, Lyla, and a 5-year-old son, James. From 2023-2024, I returned to the North Colonie Central School District as a part-time Innovation Lab Teacher, delivering STEAM instruction to students K-5. I am overjoyed to be back in the classroom working with the fifth grade again! I hold a Childhood Education Certification for grades 1-6, a Students with Disabilities Certification (1-6), and a Literacy Certification (Birth-grade 6).
In my spare time, I love to run with my dog, Linus, read realistic fiction and fantasy novels, play soccer with my family, and go for nature walks/hikes! My family and I love to spend time in the Adirondacks fishing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. My favorite author is Kate Dicamillo. My favorite book by Kate Dicamillo is The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane! In addition to loving Edward Tulane, I am also a HUGE Harry Potter Fan! I try to read the series once a year. My husband and I are patiently awaiting the day we can visit Harry Potter World!
Teaching is my absolute passion, and I cannot wait to embark on a wonderful 2025-2026 school year together!
