Our school services approximately 150 students from the 14 school districts in the Black Hawk Area Special Education District (BHASED). We provide resources and support for our students who range in age from 3-22 years old, whose needs are best served in a separate public day school.

Our school is designed for students who require a highly structured and supportive environment. Our programs incorporate academic, behavioral, and emotional support, functional life skills, and vocational training in a comprehensive learning environment to help students achieve new skills and confidence.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

An old man walked up a shore littered with thousands of starfish,

Beached and dying after a storm.

A young man was picking them up and flinging them back into the ocean.

“Why do you bother?” the old man scoffed.

“You are not saving enough to make a difference.”

The young man picked up another starfish and sent it spinning back to the water.

“Made a difference to that one,” he said.
