Meet the Library Staff
Mrs. Addie Peters
Librarian
Mrs. Peters spent a decade as a high school social studies teacher before entering her dream job as a school librarian. When not reading or listening to books she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. Together they like to garden, hike, listen to music, and travel. The family dog, Avett, a lab-blood hound mix, likes to tag-along on outdoor advenures. A life-long Girl Scout, Mrs. Peters is a Junior troop leader.
Mrs. Karen Yenser
Library Aide
Mrs. Yenser is an alumni of Brandywine Heights. She has been employed by the school district for 30 years. She began as a library aide in 2006. Her pastime is spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren, which are the joy of her life. She also enjoys going to the beach and crocheting. Mrs. Yenser also volunteers her time to work with the Topton Volunteer Fire Company.
Philosophy
The primary objective of the school’s library media center is to implement, enrich, and support the educational program of the school. The centers offer enrichment for students and resource materials for the faculty. It is the duty of the centers to provide a wide range of materials on all levels of difficulty, with a diversity of appeal, and the presentation of different points of view.
To this end, the Board of Education of Brandywine Heights Area School District endorses the principles set forth in the American Association of School Librarians School Library Bill of Rights for School Library Media Programs, a copy of which is appended to and made a part of this policy.
