Educational Philosophy
I feel teaching is not a job, but a way of life. Having the opportunity to be a part of a child’s life is a unique opportunity that I take very seriously. I believe all students are unique individuals and everyone learns in their own way. It is my duty to discover what works best for each child.
I feel the learning environment that I establish with my students needs to be one that is inclusive and nurturing to each child. I believe that to learn, the classroom must be a place where the child feels secure and comfortable. It is of utmost importance to me, that each child knows that I care about them. I want students to view my class as a place where they want to go, not a place where they have to go!
Teaching is a lifelong joy that never stops being a reflective process. Each day is unique, and provides an opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. I don’t feel there are any other professions out there that can have such a significant impact on a child. I feel lucky to have been given the patience and ability to be a teacher.
