Greetings! My name is Mr. Mark and am the EXPLORE teacher for grades 4-8 at Brandywine Heights Intermediate/Middle School. My family moved many times when I was younger, but we spent a significant amount of time in the Poconos, so I consider that my hometown.

I graduated from Kutztown University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Music Performance. I then continued my education and received my Masters degree in Instructional Technology from Wilkes University.

Immediately after graduating from college I was hired by the Reading School District where I have taught both 4th and 5th grade for 9 years. I have also actively pursued my music degree.  I studied 6 mallet marimba, which allowed me to perform the World Premier of “Concerto Mexicano” for orchestra and solo marimba, I’ve also performed in the International Percussion Festival in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the Patagonia International Percussion Festival in Argentina. 

Currently I am the Percussion Co-Caption Head for Kutztown Universities Marching Band. 

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a loving wife who is a learning support teacher in the East Penn School District, a son named Hunter and a daughter named Chloe.
