ECE Academic Integrity & Assessment Procedures

In light of current situation with online learning the procedures of testing and quiz taking have to be adjusted to accommodate for the online platform. The following are modified procedures due to distance learning. Online assessments are much more vulnerable and academic integrity is at high risk to be compromised and these procedures may differ than onsite testing protocols.

**Teachers are flexible with assignment submission. In the event that your child can not attend a test or quiz date. Please notify your child's teacher prior to assessment.

**If a student misses a test/quiz, s/he will make it up within 3 days. Teacher will schedule with parent and student when the test/quiz will be taken.

** Since students have access to any and all resources, students cannot retake a test. All tests should be taken seriously. If a student does not pass a test, parents are welcome to contact the teacher to see what options are available to improve the grade.)

**All assignments for the week must be submitted by Friday 9:00 p.m.

Late policy - If assignments (already scheduled and posted on Sunday night for the whole week) are turned in after 9:00 p.m. on Friday, the Late Policy will apply as follows:

80% max for 1st and 2nd grade

70% max for 3rd-5th grade

Please note: Various assignments count towards what's required: Exit Tickets, Reflections, Check In Questions, Mini Quizzes, Guided/Independent Practice, & Summative for PYP UOI (Test Grade), etc

MS/HS Academic Integrity & Assessment Procedures

In light of current situation with online learning the procedures of testing and quiz taking have to be adjusted to accommodate for the online platform. The following are modified procedures due to distance learning. Online assessments are much more vulnerable and academic integrity is at high risk to be compromised and these procedures may differ than onsite testing protocols.

** It is imperative for students to take all assessments (quizzes and tests) at the scheduled time. Any student arriving tardy to the assessment will only be able to complete the assessment during the time remaining; no extra time will be given.

** Any student not present for an assessment will have a grade of zero entered into the Sycamore system and the Dean of Student Affairs will be notified. Dean of Students will reach out to the family accordingly.

**If a student is absent on the day of an assessment due to an extenuating circumstance, the PARENT must notify the teacher within the same day. If the Dean of Students deems the circumstance as extenuating, he will notify the teacher that the absence is excused and the student will be allowed to complete the test for full-credit. The teacher will schedule the day/time for the assessment to be completed.

**If the circumstance is not deemed extenuating, the absence will be considered as unexcused absence and the student will be allowed to take the exam for a maximum of 50%.

Please note: whether excused or unexcused, the makeup assessment may not be the same format as the original assessment and may include open-ended/essay-based questions.

**If the student does not attend the rescheduled time, whether excused or unexcused absence, the zero will remain in the Sycamore system and the student will not receive another chance to take the test.
