EFA want to give girls from rural Morocco the chance of a secondary Education because they believe that everyone has the right to an education, and if you educate a girl, you educate the next generation as well.
At present, few girls from rural communities in Morocco continue their education after primary school. Secondary schools are not accessible to them, mainly because they live too far away from the few schools, and their families cannot afford transport fees or the available boarding facilities.
The boarding house project is a simple, efficient and cost effective way to face the challenges facing girls’ access to schools. The EFA boarding houses are completely free. Not only that, but they are a place where they additional study support from volunteers, access to computers and lots of space to develop personal skills so they have the ability and confidence to aim as high as University. The charity now have 90+ girls enrolled at University (Spring 2020) which shows this extra support is working!

On September 25th 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.
For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and people like you.

EFA Morocco would love to raise funds to build a 6th boarding house in the High Altas region so even more girls can access secondary education and fulfil their dreams and ambitions.
This year the charity are celebrating 10 years. They now have 180 girls living in 5 EFA boarding houses, close to the secondary schools. They have access to books and computers, receive additional study support, and benefit from the love and care of brilliant local house mothers.
The results are impressive, with grades well above the national average, 31 girls now enrolled at university and families positively changing their attitudes towards educating girls. Instead of marrying young and doing chores at home, they now have the opportunity to study and thrive.
The Charity would love to expand this opportunity for more girls.
