Boys To Men Leadership Group Kentucky has launched a new initiative with local law enforcement agencies to provide services for students in their programs across Bowling Green Independent and Warren County Public School districts.
Bowling Green Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and Western Kentucky Police Department have agreed to teach courses that will help youth develop a better understanding of policing and provide mentor based services to help bridge the gap between young males and law enforcement.
The departments will provide mentoring services in their jurisdictions with hopes of building positive relationships with young men in our school systems. This partnership includes a quarterly commitment of law enforcement agencies to teach courses and host community events that will reach families beyond the school systems. Students will learn how to interact with law enforcement in a positive light and develop confidence in our police forces as they mature into adulthood.
“This initiative comes at a much needed time in our community and world. If young men in our program learn how to take pride in understanding law enforcement and pursue careers in policing. Our community will become a better place with these young men leading the way,” said Tyreon Clark, Executive Director of Boys To Men Leadership Group (KY), Inc. “We’re thankful for the opportunities to build equity, and positive relationships with our local law enforcement agencies. We hope that other agencies across our community join us to do the same. “
Bowling Green Police Department, Chief Delaney stated, “I think this partnership will help the Bowling Green Police Department by providing positive role models to your group and bridging the gap between the police department. I think you never know who’s life you might change or influence. Our goal is to help you encourage these young men and get them to believe in themselves. Once you believe then you can achieve.”
Boys To Men is scheduled to host their first meeting virtually during the times of COVID-19 to begin the school year. The agencies will join students in Introduction to Law Enforcement, giving the students a first hand look at the leaders of our law enforcement and expectations of the program on Friday, September 18th at 10:00 AM.

Registration for Boys To Men (KY) academic year of 2020-2021 is now open. They will be offering services to students 3rd-12th Grade Virtually and On-site this school year. The deadline to register is September 7th , 2020. Register online at https://forms.gle/bUdm2squ9STmyJde9
