We can see in trends over the years that Teens, in general but especially those who identify in the LGBTQ+ community, are more likely to fall into depression or anxiety symptoms all centered around their identity and not feeling like they belong. By providing a program like Inclued, we can help Teens deal with those emotions of uncertainty and ensure that they have a welcoming space to go to express their feelings. The topics of the lessons are geared to help teens with self management for mental health, their changing bodies & how to take care of them, and to empower them to be more confident in who they truly are. It also helps those members who are not LGBTQ+ learn how to be an Ally to their peers in the community. Last school year, the group came up with the term "communi-TEA" where we have a segment where teens can "spill the tea" as well as the Club provides a drink & snack during these conversations.
