An apprentice is someone who is training to work in a skilled trade.
As a registered apprentice, one will receive most of their training on the job under the supervision of an experienced tradesperson, and they will be paid while they gain work experience.
The program begins the 2nd Semester of 2023-2024 School Year
There is no cost for students to participate (transportation to Georgian College, tools, PPE and books are all provided).
Students will earn two Coop Credits, two Dual Credits and their Level 1 Carpentry upon successful completion of the program

Feed your dreams! Students learn how to work in professional kitchens regionally, nationally, and internationally. Students develop fundamental food knowledge, and food preparation and presentation skills that will prepare them for lifelong career success with strong industry connections. Students practice professionalism, culinary and management skills, safety and sanitation, nutrition, product knowledge, and identification while applying their skills in a hands-on learning environment. Through this program, students complete the in-school portion of the cook apprenticeship program of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Students will earn 2 Co-Op credits, 3 Dual credits (for a total of 5 high school credits), and the Level 1 Cook Apprentice designation upon successful completion of this program.
