Hello students and parents! Welcome to Western Civilization. On this website you will find homework assignments, the syllabus, contact information, important announcements, and my bio. This school year will be filled with curiosity and the opportunity to explore this amazing world that we live in. My goal as an educator is to instill a love of learning in each of my students and prepare them to become lifelong learners. I look forward to an amazing school year!

Biography

Growing up in several parts of the country, Victoria has had a unique experience with education all over the United States. Victoria was born in Tennessee and has lived in Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, Washington, Idaho, and Arizona. She graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies. After graduating, Victoria taught Title One Kindergarten at Tiebreaker Elementary School in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She then decided to return to BYU-Idaho in pursuit of a secondary education license in history. Once that license was obtained, Victoria worked as a college and career readiness advisor at Madison Jr. High School in Rexburg, Idaho. She then decided to move to Arizona and teach 6th grade at Wilson Elementary School. For two years Ms. Tracy worked as an ESL teacher for VIPKID and where she taught Chinese students early in the morning. In early 2023, Victoria opened her own photography business and works with individuals and families throughout the Phoenix Valley. She is excited for her third year at BFHS and to share her love of history.

International travel is a passion of Ms. Tracy. In 2015, Victoria volunteered as an English teacher in Suzhou, China through the International Language Program. The following year, she traveled to Mexico and Belize to study ancient civilizations. In 2017, Victoria volunteered to work in an orphanage in Jaipur, India followed by a study abroad in Europe to study the development of Christianity with BYU-Idaho. Ms. Tracy also took a leisure trip to Iceland in 2019 to hike, whale watch, and travel around the island. In 2022, Ms. Tracy led a group of Benjamin Franklin students to Europe with EF tours to study WWII. Ms. Tracy also had the opportunity to chaperone for the 2023 trip to England and Ireland.

Some of her hobbies include singing, dancing, hiking, skiing, traveling, playing Clarinet, photography, and spending time with family. Victoria comes from a family of six with her father, Brent, mother, Sally, two brothers, Malcolm and Morgan, and sister, Clarissa. She has a love of the social sciences and enjoys sharing that passion with her students.
