• Dotard- old person, especially one who has become physically weak or whose mental faculties have declined

• Dense- having parts closely packed together

• Capering- skipping or dancing about in a lively or playful way

• Melancholy- feeling of sadness, typically with no obvious reason

• Addled- unable to think clearly, confused

• Lilt- rising and falling of the voice when speaking

• Grousing- complaining or grumbling
