Fifth Grade Science Project
This guide is to be used in preparing the science project about a science phenomenon. All items should remain in your packet. Please take the time to make sure your project is accurate and complete. You will be graded on the content, neatness, and accuracy of your explanatory paragraph and your visual aid.
Items required in your final science project:
Explanatory Paragraph: You should have a paragraph that answers, in detail, the science behind your chosen phenomenon question. It should include the topic you are addressing, supporting detail, and a clincher.
Topic sentence
Supporting details
Clincher sentence
4 sentence openers
5 dress-ups
Bibliography of 2 or more sources used
Visual Aide: You should have a poster, model, diagram, tri fold board etc. that helps to demonstrate the explanation you have provided through your paragraph.
A title
A logical sequencing/breakdown of what is happening
Labels to help provide clarity
Colorful
Neat
You will be given time in class to complete work on the explanatory paragraph. You have been provided a timeline that breaks down the pacing for this project. In order to avoid falling behind, it is important that you stick to the schedule.
The visual aid you create will be completed at home.
