About Mrs. Nelson
I grew up in El Paso, TX but attended college at Brigham Young University and University of Las Vegas, Nevada. I have always loved school! I started substitute teaching while my children were young and after 13 years of substituting all different grades and subjects, I am now teaching Classical Literature for the 7th year at Benjamin Franklin. I am passionate about books, learning, and this wonderful school! I also love animals, gardening, traveling, true-crime and chocolate. I have enjoyed leading students and families on the summer educational trips to Europe and Japan for the past four years. I promise my students that if they come to class with an open mind and are willing to put in their best effort, they will gain a healthy respect for the timeless virtues we learn from the Classical Literature tradition, in addition to improving their reading, writing, and other language arts skills.
