Welcome to Science

Dear BFCS Families,

Welcome! I am excited to partner with you this year as we explore the incredible world of science together.

Our classroom is built on the belief that science is much more than memorizing facts. Students will develop the habits of scientists by asking thoughtful questions, making careful observations, investigating real-world phenomena, analyzing evidence, and communicating their ideas clearly. As they build scientific knowledge, they will also learn to think critically, discuss respectfully, and support their conclusions with evidence.

Throughout the year, students will maintain a Science Notebook to record observations, models, vocabulary, reflections, and evidence from our investigations. This notebook will become an important record of their learning and growth as scientific thinkers.

Success in science comes from curiosity, perseverance, and active participation. I encourage students to make the most of our class time by engaging fully in investigations, discussions, and collaborative learning experiences. Together, we will build both scientific knowledge and the confidence to think like scientists.
