***NOTICE: Friday’s Phonogram Test has increased to 15 phonograms + 5 spelling words starting this week. Please help your student practice each night by saying the phonogram and spelling words out loud as he/she writes them on the homework.
Phonograms to practice for the Written Test:
v, w, x, y, z,
ie, dge (3 letters), ei,
eigh (4 letters), wh, ed,
ui (not used), ew, oa (boat), gu
Spelling Words:
of, be, but, this, your
For the Phonogram Test: I will say each of the phonogram sounds and they will write it on their paper. When I give them a phonogram that has a cue, I say the phonogram by itself and they repeat it. Then I say the cue/word that goes with that phonogram so they know which one it is.
For the Spelling Words: I will say the spelling word and they will write it. Both the phonograms and spelling words go on the same test as it is counted as a phonogram test grade.
