K-2 ESS, Power Campus
Welcome!
This is my forth year at BFCS teaching ESS and my 19th year of teaching! I grew up on the East Coast and Ohio. I have lived in Arizona for 18 years. I have an 12-year old son. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, being active and spending time outside in beautiful AZ.
I have taught Early Childhood Special education, Pre Kindergarten and Kindergarten. I recently finished classes toward my Literacy Endorsement. I hold a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Kent State University, in Ohio.
Educational Philosophy
It is my goal for each child to love coming to school and see it as a positive experience and for all students to believe in how amazing they are! I aim to create a classroom environment where each child feels respected and cared for so that they are able be their best.
What I'm looking forward to for the 25-26 school year...
I am looking forward to continuing to work with my returning students and welcome new students. I am excited to see the growth and progress each student makes. I value creating positive relationships with my students and in our classroom.
Favorite quote:
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”
